A local law firm is seeking a PR AE who will be responsible for developing, supporting and executing public relations and strategic communications plans for TCLG’s regulatory compliance clients, utilizing a variety of tactics and formats. Public-relations activities for other client areas are likely to be assigned from time to time, as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- With direct training and via educational seminars, learn and understand the technical aspects of state prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon regulatory compliance
- Research, plan and execute communication strategies and tactics on behalf of multiple clients located across the country
- Write and edit content for a variety of print and electronic collateral, including but not limited to, print magazines and newsletters, brochures, news releases, advertisements, presentations, video scripts, speeches, electronic newsletters, social media platforms and websites
- Coordinate the design and production of print collateral pieces, websites and videos, in conjunction with appropriate creative vendors and contractors
- Work closely with clients to ensure communication and public relations goals are being met; determine when adjustments and new direction need to be established
- Manage a variety of projects from start to finish, keeping clients and firm frequently apprised of status
- Maintain and manage web-based content utilizing content management systems for multiple websites
- Engage in media relations on behalf of clients and the firm
- Prepare and execute agendas and materials for stakeholder / client meetings
- Travel (in state and out of state) to client meetings, provide presentations and identify public-relations action items based on client needs
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability and desire to learn about the technical aspects of prevailing wage regulatory compliance in order to communicate effectively about it on behalf of the firm and its clients
- Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills, including strong knowledge and practice of AP Style and high-level attention to detail
- Understanding of the components of developing and maintaining an effective public relations / communications program and the ability to think strategically about how it contributes to client objectives
- Ability to effectively coordinate a wide variety of projects under demanding deadlines
- Familiarity with a variety of social media outlets and techniques for utilizing each with a corporate / industry communications framework
- Proficiency in the principles and practices of media and public relations; ability to develop written communications aimed at media and mass-audience consumption
- Good interpersonal communication skills with a willingness to share ideas and contribute as part of a team, as well as provide superior, customized services to clients
- Proactive work style, i.e., self-directed, innovative and committed to assisting entire team with work objectives
- Professionalism in interacting with internal and external publics
- Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to anticipate and facilitate completion of tasks with minimal direction
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Other Requirements:
- Available for early morning, evening and weekend meetings and events as necessary
- Access to reliable transportation for attendance of meetings, events and other client-related activities
Experience:
- Two to four years of professional-level experience in public relations or communications with a heavy emphasis on written communication
- Proven track record of successful writing for a variety of audiences and purposes
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, journalism, or marketing; other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
