Each year, the IABC Phoenix President has the opportunity to select an individual to receive a special Copper Quill Award – the President’s Award. The President’s Award honors a board member or volunteer for their exceptional service to the chapter.
This year’s recipient of the President’s Award is Kim Grozek, vice president of Internal Communications for IABC Phoenix.
Kim was recognized at the Copper Quill Awards event on May 10 by IABC Phoenix President Cory Craft, who received the President’s Award in 2011.
Since joining IABC six years ago, Kim has contributed her talents to the Phoenix chapter in many different ways. She served as the chapter’s Director of Media Relations in 2009-10. Kim did such an outstanding job getting the word out about our chapter’s events that she was asked to join the 2010-11 board as Co-Vice President of Special Events for the Copper Quill Awards.
“Last year, as I was recruiting members for my board of directors, Kim was one of the first people on my list,” said Cory. “Kim is a consummate communications professional and exemplifies what we look for in an outstanding volunteer.”
Kim is currently serving on the 2011-12 board as Vice President of Internal Communications.
In her role, Kim led a major redesign of Edit Express, IABC Phoenix’s bi-weekly email publication, incorporating more photos and colorful images to make our chapter’s publication more visually appealing and easier to read. Despite her demanding work schedule, Kim always makes sure member news is delivered on time.
“As a communications manager with Charles Schwab, Kim has a very busy schedule. But when it comes to communicating to IABC Phoenix members, she never misses a beat,” said Cory.
Kim will be returning to the board again for the 2012-13 term to serve as Vice President of Community Involvement.
Congratulations, Kim, on your President’s Award!

Congrats, Kim, well deserved!
