The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts marketing department seeks a full-time Advertising Graphic Designer to support creative and production design for SCPA advertising of performances and events. This position ensures advertising design concepts uphold SCPA branding/identity consistency. Develop, design and produce all materials through the coordination of project timelines, proofing and production. Works closely with all marketing staff members as business needs dictate and reports to the Director of Marketing and Audience Engagement.
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts (SCPA) is one of the Southwest’s premier performing-arts halls. The newly renovated Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts presents diverse, high-quality performances of classical and world music, dance, jazz and theater, educational programs and festivals, which serve more than 300,000 people annually. The Center includes the 853-seat Virginia G. Piper Theater 137-seat Stage 2 theater and neighboring 1,800-capacity Scottsdale Civic Center Amphitheater located on a lush, 21-acre urban park in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related degree plus a minimum of one to three years professional experience in graphic design or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced experience in QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and related PC desktop publishing word processing software, printers and scanners preferred. Familiarity with a PC graphic design platform is preferred. While performing the duties of this job, this position requires a strong attention to detail, maturity and professional attitude, friendly, and the ability to multi-task. Intermediate proficiency in the use of personal computer, proficient in the Adobe software, Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator required. Must have knowledge of printing process, ability to take direction and work efficiently under pressure, possess good communication skills and have an eye for accuracy and attention to detail. Significant creative ability required. Employee must be flexible to work occasional flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends and special events as business needs dictate. May be scheduled over 40 hours per week to meet business need deadlines.
