If you are wondering how YOU can be recognized as a Star Volunteer, IABC president Jenna Rowell would love to talk to you about getting involved.
Peter Faur. Peter is a rock star volunteer who has been a critical member of the finance team in developing the first-ever Q4 2014 bridge budget, as well as an instrumental contributor in developing the 2015 budget. Peter’s Quickbooks expertise has been leveraged throughout this process and his willingness to develop each month’s financial snapshots as well as his willingness and interest to go above and beyond to help the chapter is very appreciated.
Joe Ricciardi. Once again, Joe pulled off an amazing Network Night event for IABC Phoenix, also underwriting almost all of it for the chapter. His work on this event last year earned him special recognition from the chapter president, and he’s certainly deserving of recognition again this year for making the event so easy for the chapter president and other officers.
Roxy Helman. Roxy plays a huge role in putting together Edit Express and distributing it every two weeks. Her proactive approach is most appreciated; she’s always on top of gathering content for an upcoming issue, brainstorming stories, and keeping everyone on track to ensure we stay on schedule and our members receive the latest news in a timely fashion. This is a lot of legwork, but Roxy does it all with a happy-to-help attitude.
Star Volunteer, Felicia Thompson
Since July, Felicia has served as Director, Professional Development (Core Programs) for the chapter. Less than one year into her membership with IABC Phoenix, Felicia took a leadership role — one with heavy responsibilities — to boost her involvement with and value from IABC. She grabbed this leadership role with gusto, arranging the first “Morning Meet Me” event for members in August, which attracted more than 14 members who gathered over breakfast to share social media tips n’ tricks. She also organized the September and October luncheons, including collaborating with the Communications and Digital Outreach teams to plan the marketing strategy for these events.
With a busy day job as Vice President, Communications for the Better Business Bureau of Arizona and a full family life (Felicia is expecting her second baby soon!), Felicia still just said “yes” when asked to volunteer. Her dedication and initiative have served up valuable programs for IABC Phoenix, and we look forward to welcoming Felicia to the chapter board in November 2014, when she becomes eligible to hold office upon reaching her one-year anniversary as an IABC member.
