Located in Tucson, this position is responsible for managing the execution of CPSA’s corporate communications strategy, including member communications, public relations, community relations, employee communications, provider communications, and digital communications (website(s) and social media). Works to establish, maintain, and measure the effectiveness of two-way communications channels with internal and external stakeholders and ensure overall brand continuity. Supervises the communications team and reports to the Chief Community and Public Relations Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing and implementing annual strategic communication plans that include goals, activities, materials, and performance indicators.
Planning, directing and evaluating the corporate communications strategies and activities for the organization.
Implementing and evaluating a proactive communication program to enhance the reputation of CPSA, position the organization as a thought leader and increase its visibility within the field and general community.
Developing, coordinating and evaluating communications activities to CPSA’s members and their families.
Serving as the primary contact for media inquiries and maintaining relationships with local, regional and national media.
Acting as a CPSA spokesperson with the media or at public events, when appropriate executive leadership is not available.
Managing the activities of contracted public relations support or other outside vendors, as needed
Supervise the corporate communications team
Remaining current on trends related to communications strategies and federal, state and local legislative issues relevant to CPSA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, journalism, reporting, or composition. Master’s degree preferred. Six (6) years or more of increasingly responsible experience in a communications, public relations or marketing role. At least two (2) years of direct supervisory experience or experience as a project leader or team leader. Experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
HIRING RANGE: $52,938 – $68,820
