What is your current position/company?
Internal Communications Consultant, Arizona Public Service (APS)

What is your favorite aspect of your job?
The best thing about working in internal communications is that I get to contribute to everything that is going on around our company. Whether it’s what’s happening on the front line, business decisions or things that are impacting our community. Knowing that the work I do is driving business results and helping make our employees’ jobs meaningful definitely makes my day!

How long have you been a member of IABC?
About 3 years, since November 2008.

What do you hope to gain from your membership/involvement with IABC?
I hope to gain leadership experience in a different area (event planning), get to know more of my fellow IABC members and be a part of the best IABC chapter in the nation!

What words of advice do you have for young professionals?
1. Never be afraid of trying something new 2. Be a team player, but don’t do it all. Your experience will take you the farthest.

Who was/were your biggest professional influence(s)?
I am very thankful that I have had the opportunity to work with some very talented individuals and mentors throughout my career. But I would have to say my biggest influence would be my husband of 12 years, Brandon, who is always pushing me to be my best and try new things in both my professional and personal life.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Anytime I can get with my family. I have a two year old boy and a five year old girl and can never get enough of them. Our favorite pastimes are camping and having backyard BBQ’s. When I can, I also like to snowboard in the winter and wakeboard in the summer.

What destination do you want to travel to the most?
My great grandparents were from Dublin, Ireland. I would love to spend a couple of months there someday and scope out my ancestry.
