What is your current position/company?
Internal Communications Manager at Insight

What is your favorite aspect of your job?
I love working on cross-functional teams. As the communication lead for Insight North America’s SAP implementation, I get to work with teammates from across IT and the business.

How long have you been a member of IABC?
I’ve been a member of IABC Phoenix since 2001.

What do you hope to gain from your membership/involvement with IABC?
IABC Phoenix has been good to me. I’ve gotten leads from IABC members that led to my two most recent jobs. And it’s a great way to meet interesting people and stay current on communication best practices. I’ve served on the board in the past and am a firm believer in the value of networking with my peers.

What words of advice do you have for young professionals?
Volunteer, get involved, get as much experience as you can. In other words, network. IABC is great for that.

Who was/were your biggest professional influence(s)?
I’ve been fortunate to work with a lot of competent – and some not-so-competent – communications professionals. I’ve studied each one and learned from them all.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
My husband and I are cyclists. I’ve got a road bike and a mountain bike and ride as much as I can.

What destination do you want to travel to the most?
I’d like to go to Machu Picchu and Nepal. But realistically, I’ll probably go back to China first.
