How long have you been a member of IABC?
I have been an IABC Phoenix member since 1997.

What is your current position/company?
I am currently a Communication Leader at Honeywell Aerospace, responsible for internal communications.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?
I enjoy working in internal communications in a large corporation because of the variety of projects and issues that require strategic thought leadership and detailed communication planning.

What do you hope to gain from your membership/involvement with IABC?
As an active volunteer with IABC Phoenix for a number of years, I have continued to grow professionally and enhanced my leadership and communication skills with each new role and assignment. Along the way, I’ve met many wonderful and talented communication professionals. It’s been fun and rewarding too!

What words of advice do you have for young professionals?
Make time for self-development, no matter how busy you get with your personal and professional lives. Keep your skills fresh and maintain a network of colleagues, preferably through IABC Phoenix!

Who was/were your biggest professional influence(s)?
Several people have influenced me professionally over the years, but I admire Shel Holtz for his ability to stay abreast of the changing communication landscape, how he embraces new technology and tools and his eagerness to share his knowledge and experience with others.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy going to movies, hiking, traveling and am a big Scrabble fan.

What destination do you want to travel to the most?
I love being near the ocean, relaxing on a beautiful beach. Hawaii is one of my favorite places to visit, especially Maui, so I’d go there any day. But I’d also like to visit the Greek islands and travel to the Caribbean someday.
