UTI communicated to employees solely through electronic means, despite having more than a third of its base unable to regularly access online tools. News Track was created as another vehicle to reach all employees while fulfilling other communication gaps identified in employee focus groups. As a result, employees have embraced News Track, and employee communication was listed as one of the top three most improved areas in UTI's 2006 employee opinion survey.
